Super Janelle and Billy
“My love she’s like some raven
At my window with a broken wing”
May is a clever magician
palming the sun and discarding rain
through misdirection
Dandelions are their own planets
with their stars of white cotton
orbiting particles that move around
a perfectly compassed circle
Do the spores replace a hole
left by a sudden wind or a child’s game?
Or is the split left open?
Maybe the spores are not blown away
but rather, open tiny hairy hands
and let go for heaven
Katie’s train lumbers down the track
out of breath
And summer with it
Trains are relics living past their time
like alligators
the dinosaurs that stayed
